Barbie has been a staple in most girls' toy boxes for years. Accessorised with a LOT of pink, high heels, and Ken, hours have been spent creating fantasy worlds for Barbie and her friends.
The thing about Barbie is that she is essentially 'perfect.' She's skinny, wears makeup, has long blonde hair, the same as maybe 2% of the worlds population... and people are starting to take a stand (what they're taking a stand against varies and I am a Barbie lover so this is in now way an attack on Barbie).
Enter Lammily. A 'realistic' doll for young girls. I came across this video of second graders reacting to Lammily compared to Barbie and it is really interesting to see what they have to say.

All the children are much more interested in Lammily, without her 'high heel feet' and super skinny arms. Even when comparing the two dolls they are more judgemental of skinny Barbie than 'wider' Lammily.
Lammily is them, Lammily is us, and she will be welcomed wholeheartedly into the toyboxes of girls everywhere when she becomes available.
