Noone likes to have a bad experience. Living through something that disrupts your life in a negative way is hard. It can be frustrating, and it can impact so much from your mood to your enjoyment of a tv show. Basically, it sucks. But then, after a while, it doesn't. It could take a week, month, or years, but more often than not a time comes when it doesn't make you sad, or mad. You become grateful for the things that you experienced and what you learned from them.
There is nothing quite like reaching your limits to know what they are. Can't stand when you're ignored constantly for no reason? Well, at least now you know that that is something you won't compromise on. Or you realise you can forgive that, but not when someone lies to you.
Cause if you're ever gonna find a silver lining
It's gotta be a cloudy day
If you wanna fill your bottle up with lightning
You're gonna have to stand in the rain
- Kacey Musgraves (Silver Lining)
In the long run you learn so much about yourself, and quite often anyone else involved, when you are tested. So while it's absolutely fine to cry your heart out or not leave the house for awhile, you will come out a stronger person who is more attuned to themselves. It's the silver lining.
